Green Mortgages – launched!

NatWest have launched their range of Green Mortgages. Not the first lender to launch a ‘green’ mortgage product but it is encouraging to see them join the likes of Barclays and

Kensington in this space.

A green mortgage offers clients lower interest rates for Energy Efficient Homes with an EPC rating of A or B.

This can be a new home or an older property as long as the EPC condition has been met.

Barclays offer similar criteria albeit restricting to new build properties from registered developers. It is great to see a promotion toward incentives for greener homes, one we would also like to see reflected in future Stamp Duty Land Tax rules.
