First Homes –  Government initiative

Key workers and other essential local workers may soon benefit from a Government Initiative called First Homes. This initiative aims to provide discounted homes (proposed at circa 30%) on new build developments for essential local workers to avoid the need for people to relocate due to unaffordable housing. The Government first made this proposal in February 2020, and the deadline for consultation was in May 2020.

I would think that given the immense gratitude we have for the emergency services, teachers and NHS workers over the last few months, it would be hard for the Government to not push this through sooner rather than later.
